Poor Quality, dont let pretty colors distract you!

If you want a cute decoration, but something that doesnt work-- this machine is for you. I should have followed my intuition when I first it-- the opening mechanism seemed very cheap and not smooth at all, but I loved the yellow color they offered. I bought my vertuo pop+ last april, but did not start using it until August in college-- after about 6 months of use, the opening mechanism got very stiff. Now, 2 months later I have to forcefully open and close it with 2 hands its so stiff. Once closed it blinks red each time so I have to open and close it about 2-3 times to adjust with each brew before it will work. Like I predicted, the opening mechanism is very cheap and honestly just poorly designed. I have performed all the suggested maintenance in my instructions within the intervals stated, and it still makes coffee that is warm, not hot with huge amounts of foam. My family has a VertuoPlus deluxe and that has held up for years-- get this instead. I started the process to claim a warranty for my machine, but unfortunately I was 20 days too late -- Sad because its basically useless now after 10 months. Unfortunately its a beautiful machine and would be perfect for my small apartment, but not if it doesn't work...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Will stop working within months

Do not recommend. This machine is useless, a waste of money and will break not long after you buy it. I descaled it as I was instructed and immediately after it stops working and nothing will fix it. In store help was also useless. We have had 3 different vertuo machines and all three have stopped working within months. If you do buy one, get the older models. The older models actually are great and have lasted years. Could not recommend the vertuo less.

Worth the delicious coffee!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I recently bought the virtual pop plus machine and we can’t go without a delicious cup of coffee every morning. It is small yet functional, which fits our space appropriately. The only thing I would caution is the amount of water and the container for used capsules is decently small so we have to switch out quite frequently. We anticipated this when we purchased, but overall the coffee machine is well worth it

Great when it works

I’ve had this machine for 14 months now and it only works correctly about 60% of the time. When it’s not working you get the dreaded blinking red light and have to unplug and replug multiple times before it starts. Granted this happens almost every time you’re late for work! It’s a shame because the coffee is the best, however the machine is not. Check the internet and reviews because this is a common problem with this particular machine.

The Vertuo Pop Plus is not a well-designed product. 1) The coffee does not brew hot. It's merely warm. Nespresso says this preserves flavor but since when in the history of coffee is brewing hot a disadvantage? 2) I'm a first time Nespresso buyer and the explanation of the pod types and sizes is quite unclear e.g. online says there is a 12 oz option, but that is only if you're making iced coffee, and good luck fitting a 12 oz cup under the spout; regular coffee max is a mere 8 ounces, and an inch of foam. And, there's so much foam, you cannot see the color change in the coffee when adding milk or cream so it's hard to know if you've added the right amount. 3) The lid and lock are rather stiff when brewing a cup; I assumed, having used other Nespresso models at friends' homes, that there would only be a light touch needed but this product is completely different. Don't expect the experience of the upper models. 4) Finally, the flavor and strength of the coffee is superior to anything I had with my Keurig, but I miss the ease and heat of the Keurig.

Cute but poorly constructed

My machine started leaking after 2 weeks. Will be returning it and putting the 7-year-old machine back into service.
