If you’re having trouble trying to decide which streaming device is best don’t look any further Roku is! This streaming stick has been our number 1 for years easy to navigate, colorful and clear, Roku channel has the best selection of movies, tv shows, talk shows etc…

The worst thing to happen to television!

Roku is the worst thing that could ever have happened to television! The people that run this are the most unprofessional people in business! They cut to commercials in the middle of sentences while you're watching a show! They cut to commercials in the middle of scenes! A 2-year-old knows better with no television experience! They've been showing the same three commercials since January. It's now December! I requested that they changed the commercials but they show them more because they're imbeciles! I'm dumping this platform and these people and going to figure out something else like going back to dish or different platform! But these people are not getting another penny off of me!

Roku products are junk!

Roku products are junk! I just purchased a streaming stick and it broke after one month - the HDMI does not work after testing on multiple devices. Even worse is their customer service they transfer you through multiple people over two hour periods via chat (you cannot email them accordingly to their chat bots) and they are no help. I recently threw out a Roku TV that lasted two years. The streaming stick breaking this past month is the last straw. I will no longer be a customer. Beware, stay away, disposable electronics with even worse customer service! Is anyone else sick of the world of customer service via chat bots that are useless?

Better of buying a Fire Stick

If I could give this a negative review I would. Just made the switch from Fire Stick to Roku and regretting it severely. First off, there’s no power button or voice control on the remote which you honestly don’t realize is an inconvenience until you don’t have it. Second, if you want to access the internet/use Google on a Roku you need to pay for it which is beyond stupid since that’s something you don’t need to pay for on, you guessed it, a Fire Stick. Honestly just to be petty too the noise that it makes when searching is more annoying as well. Overall, I would have NEVER gotten this if I knew how terrible it was going to be. Don’t waste your money!!!

Kindly note that the Roku 3960R Express is supplied with a standard remote control, whereas the new 3840R streaming stick is expected to be accompanied by a voice remote. Good unit but requires additional power supply.

Plusses:
1. Small
2. Can be plugged in directly into TV, no HDMI cable required
3. Not IR: no need to aim the remote. (not explained in product description btw!).
Minuses:
1. Requires more power than previous unit. Many TVs do not provide enough power via their built-in USB port. To be fair, a longish USB cable is provided with the unit, but a separate power supply is not. Apparently it is included with the 4K stick model.
2. The remote sound volume control does not support sound bars: stull need separate remote
I would recommend this to a friend!

Won't fit the TV

It won't fit in the Tv. The recessed portion is to small, luckily I had an HDMI coupling, so I was able to plug it in the end of a cable. Although now I have a 10' cable could behind the TV. At least if you buy a FireStick they know that is a possible issue and include a 6" hdmi extension cable in the box.

Useless player on any TV older than a year old

I specifically bought this because it did not require power cord and is able to be powered by your tv. I've tried it on three tvs, and the only one it works on is the TV that I bought in july. My older TVs that are about 3 or 4 years old don't apparently support this and I'm required to plug it in. So it's basically useless. I purchased this to replace a Roku that I had to plug in because I don't have plugs anywhere close to my TVs and don't have the ability to plug in. So can't use it for the purpose described and I don't need it on my new TV since it's a smart tv. Threw it in the drawer with my other Roku and will move on to a different product.

Hi there, and thank you for reaching out. In many cases, a Roku Streaming Stick may not function properly when powered through a TV’s USB port because the port does not supply sufficient power (current/amps). This is especially common with older TVs or USB 2.0 ports.

To ensure stable performance, please use the included Roku power adapter and plug it directly into a wall outlet, which provides the recommended 5V/1A power source.
