My present mattress is too soft, and the purpose in purchasing the topper was to see if a harder surface would improve a chronic back condition, before investing in a new firmer mattress. It has not eliminated the back pain, but has definitely made a significant difference.

Hard as a rock

You can tell that the materials are high quality, but it was way too hard for my wife and I. We even tried a cheaper two inch memory foam on top of it. It is currently in a massive trash bag in our basement. We got a stain on it, so we can't resell it. I will not buy a tempur pedic product again.

I am so happy I purchased this topper. I was waking up with a sore back every morning. Now I don't. It is hard when you first get on, but you immediately start sinking in and you get cradled. My only complaint is that I have to readjust once a week because it starts moving down towards the end of the bed.

After a few days of laying on in one spot it sinks several inches. I have to keep move around the mattress to avoid the big slumps. My back is now much worse. I removed it and I'm now feeling better!
