Does What It Should

I'm not inclined to get super technical regarding a laptop, but from what I can tell this one was a smart buy. Most programs start up and run pretty fast. I can't argue with that. Some videos get stuck buffering, and we're talking the simple stuff like something uploaded to Facebook or Youtube. It could be the quality of the recording maybe not. Furthermore, I do feel that at this point there should be a blu-ray player on deck. Its 2011, if they can make an awesome TV like the D8000 plasma, I know they can put a better HD picture on a laptop. Overall the look is sleek and sexy. i wouldn't mind being seen with it. Its not a huge machine but it does have a little weight to it, despite its slim design. I don't think it should be too much lighter though. So far it seems pretty sturdy. My pug pounced at the screen and all was well in terms of the computer. I can't tell you what happened to the dog. j/k Anyway, if you want a high quality laptop that can get done what you want done as a student or professional, you should get this one, get a cooler though, because it literally runs pretty hot. Its also got some questionable bells and whistles. I am not sure about the whole optimizer thing. It appears to work faster at times, but only according to the little gadget that it showing you a faster performance. Its like a bum wearing a sign that says, "I'm clean." I can't tell that its performing faster, and therefore I am inclined to believe that its not. The display is super bright but it can also be turned WAY down. It also has once of those snappy touch pads that responds well to gestures. 4 stars.

Cons: needs to be truely hd, needs a blu ray player for the road

Best laptop ive owned yet!

I built computers for a living, but when i saw this particular laptop i immediately fell in love. I love the aluminum finish and the mac like keyboard. Love that it has a cover on the screen to prevent dust particles to getting inside the hard to reach spots. The speed of the computer is great especially with a few samsung tools to enhance it. Lots of room to store pictures and documents. Has a great display and sound quality of the speakers.
I personally dislike the usb ports and hdmi being covered up and being so close together. Another thing is the built in battery is definetaly a bad idea. I had my battery fail on me even though i fully discharged and charged every time. Only way to service that part was through samsung themselves, lucky for the warrrenty. Other than the battery issue that i had i completely adore the laptop and cant wait to get it back so i can keep catching peoples eyes and telling them NO ITS NOT A MAC!

I bought this laptop for a new job I started a couple months ago. So far it has served me well. I did upgrade the RAM to 8GB, not out of necessity. My only real complaint for the laptop is the trackpad. It is a little quirky and hard to get used to. Other than that, I'm well pleased with the laptop. Hopefully Samsung will update the trackpad firmware and improve the functionality of it in the near future. Hint, hint!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: trackpad function

This is the best computer i've ever had. I love that i can do everything fast and easy! I can open so many programs but the computer will still run the same with other programs. I love this computer and i use it everyday! This computer has awesome features and also comes with WIMAX! thats just awesome!

I can't be much happier with this laptop than I am. It has excellent functionality, speed (even without having yet upgraded RAM to maximum). The screen display is excellent, and multitasking multiple programs at once goes very well.
The processor speed is great, the form factor is slim but more metallic and not plastic-like. The keys on the keyboard are island style, which I believes makes for more accurate typing, as laptop typing can feel strange and easy to mistype.
The shortcut hardware and Fn buttons are great as well. It has webcam and microphone built in, and the touchpad features and settings are very good and intuitive.
You will not regret getting this if you are looking for the 14.x" display and great battery life for a laptop.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, solid feeling and appearance, very good processor speed, max ram 8gb

Buy this notebook because compared to other brands, had better components and a better price, apart from their design efforts to reduce the heat, I think for the same characteristics is the best choice!

Overall I am pretty happy with this laptop. Lot of people complained about the touchpad but I havent had any issues with it, its fine once you get use to it. Only problem I had was with my wifi adapter, it stopped working but once I updated the driver it was fine.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
