Needed a replacement for my hp pavilion dv5. Screen could be a bit larger. Miss the bluetooth. But wow, what a great machine. Stylish and functional. Would purchase again from Samsung.

great overall; touchpad is troublesome

i've enjoyed my qx410 for about two weeks. overall, i think it was a great buy. i've noted some things i like and dislike below:
LIKES:
* 3 usb ports.
* gentle, responsive, quiet keyboard.
* edge-to-edge glass screen (though there is a lot of glare) and overall design of the machine. very sleek.
* super fast -- excellent at multi-tasking.
* graphics and sound are great.

DISLIKES:
* my biggest frustration with the machine is that the touchpad and mouse buttons are not accurately responsive to touch. oftentimes, i have to click two or three times to get the machine to respond. the touchpad requires more precision on the part of the user than ought to be necessary. i hope samsung develops a fix for this.
* a lot of glare off the screen.
* ac power cord gets plugged into the left side. would prefer the plug location to be on the back of the machine

Looks nice but has serious deficiencies

I just purchased this beautiful laptop on 27 OCT 10 but noticed a few things that affects my reliablity on this laptop. The F4 key (The Reinstall Key) has no security feature allowing any unintended intruder to wipe off all data in the laptop at once. There are no indicators for NumLK and ScrLK keys (other than the instant icons when they are turned on or off) on the keyboard to indicated whether they are on or not. In addition, their function keys are indicated with unfamiliar icons instead of the words of NumLk or ScrLk. Finally, The taskbar flickers when videos are played in full screen mode. I really like the look, speed, and capacity but I am seriously considering to return it.
Pros: Bright display, beautiful design
Cons: Did not meet expectations, lacks f4 security, numlk and scrlk indicators are missing, taskbar flicks when videos are played in full mode
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

technicians nightmare,spill water on the keyboard,major pain to change,replace.quality 5 out of ten.drop it 1 time its a dead issues.survivabilty factor 3 out of ten.

Purchased this laptop with high hopes as my former Dell was on its last leg. Right out of the box it needed many updates and patches to fix problems. Worked ok for a few weeks and the fixes and patches seem not to work and the old issues come back. The laptop has issues when typing fast and it will move your sentence to the last place the cursor was placed. It also requires a daily reboot to even function properly. It is much slower than my old and dying Dell Latitude. I also loathe not having a mouse stick because the touchpad is not a smart feature!!! Its very hard to highlight an entire area as the touchpad wont easily move the cursor once something is clicked. There are so many other issues I don't have time to list but I wont be buying another Samsung Laptop.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nicely designed value laptop

Pros: Good value. Nice Samsung design.
Cons: Runs Windows, which is still clunky as ever. No software discs included. Only 1 USB port. The gestures for touchpad stop working on numerous, random occasions (driver related), very annoying.
Pros: Inexpensive, value, design
Cons: touchpad driver, 1 usb port, microsoft windows

worst mouse trackpad I've ever tried to use EVER. The cursor jumps around the screen, it highlights and deletes words I'm typing and does whatever it wants to do. I HATE IT. And who puts only one USB port on a brand new laptop?? Are you kidding me? I hate this machine and I have to prevent myself from throwing it out the window on a daily basis.
