Broil King - Stainless steel grids

The Stainless Steel grids do rust and must be replaced every few years. Regardless of what they say about stainless steel and the warranty, all grills seem to rust.

These do SEAR!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical with Broil King's claim that depite these being stainless steel, the grills will retain heat so well that they sear the meat.
I needed to replace the cast iron grills on my Regal and didnt want to have to replace them again in the next 5 years. (becuase im lazy and dont season my grills the way I should). So Sear marks or not, I went for the stainless steel rods.
Im a believer now. They leave dark sear marks just like the cast irion grills that i had before. They are so much easier to clean. And the BBQ cooks like new again. Love them!!

I cooked 3 times on steel grids. Cleaning was a pain. Had to scrub with SOS pads hard and long to remove burnt-on residue. What am I doing wrong???
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for writing a review. We are sorry to hear you are having difficulties with keeping your grids clean. We have a solution for you. Removal of baked on grease is accomplished by using household ammonia in accordance with the instructions on the container. The basic method is to presoak the affected area in a warm/hot ammonia solution to soften the baked on grease and then rinse with a warm detergent solution and finally rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry. This final rinsing and wiping will avoid watermarks caused by lime deposits in the water. If the detergent solution fails to remove the grease softened by the ammonia then alcohol or methyl hydrate may be used to remove the softened grease.
