A little about me - Senior woman with a bit of skill... Oh my giddy aunt! The Sylvania kit was so easy to complete the transformation of my old ugly headlights. As you can see in the first image, my headlights were opaque almost pure white and ugly as can be. So with a little research I chose the Syvania Kit and within an hour, the headlight covers were restored to their beautiful, shiny state. Be brave and save yourself some $$$ and do it yourself. I know you can!

Outstanding Results

The results are almost unbelievably good, with the headlights looking like new. For the most part you can follow the directions that come with the kit, and as shown in the video. If your headlights are badly textured, you may need to purchase and start with 220 grit wet-or-dry sandpaper, as I did. Sand until the lens is a uniform light gray color when dried -- no yellow or clear areas. Then move up to the next finer grit. You will quickly create a new, finer haze, but with some residual scratches left in it from the coarser paper. Keep sanding until you have a uniform haze, with no deep scratches. Then move on to the next finer paper. If you move up too soon you will never get those scratches out. And be sure to use plenty of water, not the little spritz that's shown in the video. You need to keep the lens and the paper flushed in order to wash away any loose pieces of grit. Also, if you have not wet-sanded before, be careful of your fingers -- it's easy to sand right through your skin. While the front of the (folded) piece of sandpaper is sanding the lens, the back will be sanding your fingers. Don't wait until you see blood to put some tape around your finger tips!

I have used several headlight cleaning products over the past few years with results that were unsatisfactory and none compared favorably to the illustrations on the products packaging. My neighbor bought the Sylvania kit which interested me to try the kit out of curiousity. I followed the instructions carefully and achieved the results of an amazingly clear finish that rivals the headlight lens of almost new cars in our complex parking lot. I haven't found another reasonably priced product that comes even close to the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit. Period.

Recommended by a (retired) mechanic friend as a good kit that didn't require power tools. Knocked it out in about an hour and a half - added a stepstool to sit on, spray bottle of water, and roll of paper towels. I reviewed the video twice before starting, and the insert was handy to check as I worked. The safety cap on the bottle of sealant was more trouble than any of the steps, and I'm impressed with the results. Let's see how long it lasts!

Easy to use, plenty of materials for both headlights on my 2016 Tundra. Sanded by hand to get into all of the nooks and crevasses. One hour per light start to finish, including masking. Spray bottle versus a hose made for a very clean job.

My go to for headlight restoration

Sanded lights by hand, process took less than an hour, including using an extra 3000 grit sanding pad I had. Process can be faster if working on headlights without protrusions. Vehicles that I treated 3 years ago still look great, clients aren't complaining so neither will I.

My 2007 VW Rabbit has crystal clear headlights again! They look like they're brand new. The kit wasn't difficult to use - the instructions were good. Took me several hours only because I'm slow. Recommend highly!
