A phenomenal addition to a dirty home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great product. It is lightweight yet study. It is well designed and good looking. We had a very dirty couch that needed lots of work. Dogs, kids, food, and wine have all messed it up. To be sure, some stains are so deep that it's virtually impossible but it cleaned the heck out of the couch. If you catch things early enough then pretty much anything will come out. I wish it original purchase came with more of the soap though. That is my only critique.

Perfect for whole-house cleaning!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living with both kids and pets, we have a lot of dirty carpets, and I struggle to keep the carpets maintained. After considering getting a small spot carpet cleaner for years, I am very excited about this Shark CarpetXpert, which allows me to clean my entire house quickly. I can clean an entire room at one time with ease. Previously, we would have to rent a machine to do the whole house and block off an entire weekend to get it done. Now, I can do one room at a time as fits into our busy schedules. And the Shark CarpetXpert does not disappoint. It picks up so much dirt and leaves the carpets not only looking new, but smelling fresh.
Out of the box, it's easy to assemble, and came with the cleaning solutions you need to use it right away. The attachments for both stairs and upholstery are amazing. If you have ever had a microfiber couch, you know how dirty they can look with children and pets. Now it's easy to clean up. If you have pets one of the best attachments is the pet tool. This will pick up wet messes without filtering it back into the machine. Instead, it holds the dirty water in the attachment so that you can flush it down the toilet /sink separately. It's also great if your house gets the stomach flu and someone doesn't make it to the bathroom in time.
After using the machine, it is easy to clean and store. The hose has an attached hose cleaner to dry off the interior of the hose, and the other compartments all easily snap off. I rinse and clean the brush as well as the dirty water compartment and set them out to air dry before storing and it all takes me less than 15 minutes.
I will never go back to renting the machines at the big box stores because this machine is more convenient and does the job with amazing results. I have used it both to spot treat one area, and for an entire room with ease. The carpets have never looked cleaner and small messes don't stress me out because I know that the Shark CarpetXpert will leave my carpets looking clean and smelling fresh.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because we have 3 small dogs and they tend to make a mess at times and have had a couple of accidents on the rugs, and even on our furniture, since one is still a puppy and learning to control her bladder. On the carpet, it worked great and the cleaning solution smells really good, so I will definitely buy more or that! The box it came in even had a QR code to make ordering easier. The suction really is powerful , making for quicker dry times. However, the part that you can add solution to clean spots on your stairs and upholstery didn’t work at all for me. The solution went from the container on the suction piece directly onto the collection tank without even dampening the upholstery. I tried watching the video, but that wasn’t the least bit helpful to actually use the “stain master” & I ended up using the smaller suction piece and just spraying the solution on first and that part worked great! It did leave some lines, though, so using a bit of a zig zag pattern seems to do better for cleaning with.
If you buy this product for your carpet, it works much better than for the upholstery. It’s also easy to put together and take apart afterwards to clean with. Just don’t leave the dirty stuff in the containers. Clean it out.

This is the first carpet cleaner I have owned that is Shark brand and boy am I impressed. I have been using the Crevice Tool on every piece of furniture I own and it has pulled out stains and dirt that I didn't even know existed! The pet tool helps remove my 3 cat household hairballs from the carpet and furniture with ease. No stains or hairs left behind!
The cleaning solution is light and airy with no harmful chemical smells and gets rid of the tough stains I've had like juices, foods, and pet related stains. Don't hesitate on grabbing this vacuum, you won't be disappointed!

Great Cleaning Results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shark CarpetXpert with StainStriker operates like two separate machines. After assembling, I was anxious to clean a high traffic carpet area and started with the CarpetXpert part – full size carpet cleaning. I heated water, filled the reservoir and added the included cleaning solution. Operation is easy and before long I had used the Deep Cleaning Mode over the area and then switched to Quick Dry to get up as much extra water as possible. As you can see from the pictures, the returned water was VERY dirty. The area of interest was much cleaner but the next day I switched to using the StainStriker mode which uses an additional cleaning solution and a scrubber on a hand tool. In hindsight, I should have started this way from the beginning. After using the hand tool, I filled the water tank with plain water and went over it again with the full machine to remove any remaining dirty water and cleaning solution. The area improved significantly. I now plan to use it monthly on high traffic areas.
One interesting thing included in the instructions is that when turning off the power it may take a few seconds for it to actually shut down since the water needs to clear the lines. Even after reading this, it took me many times to get used to the delay. Also, there appeared to be many “modes” but if you have the lever set to use as a carpet cleaner, it will only let you pick two options. Best to use Deep Cleaning mode first to spray the water/cleaner and use the brushroll to loosen the dirt. Then switch to Quick Dry to remove as much water as possible so the carpet will dry rapidly. The clear cover over the brushroll allows you to see water being sucked back into the dirty water tank. If you have the lever set to StainStriker, there is only one mode option. The lever is tucked behind the hose so to switch, you need to move the hose. Not a big deal since you will need to let the hose loose to use the StainStiker tool.
It is necessary to clean the unit after every use since leaving dirty water would result in smells and mold. I prefer to clean the hose out first using plain water in the main tank. The included hose-cleaning tool is required for this and it clips onto the pole when not in use so it doesn’t get lost. Next, I cleaned the dirty water tank and the main water tank. Finally, taking apart the brushroll and cleaning associated parts was fairly simple. I did use a toothpick to remove lint stuck in the suction cover. I like that all of the tools and parts are able to be stored on the unit.
Overall, I am thrilled with the performance of the Shark CarpetXpert. My daughter has already borrowed for her own carpet.

It's state of the art design is easy to use, lightweight and by far the most powerful cleaner I've had to date. Powerful suction, deep cleaning capabilities and easy maneuverability leaves my carpet smelling and feeling fresh. I like to finish with a little clean linen carpet deodorizer for added freshness but this thing really does the trick!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The older I get the more satisfied I become with getting dirt out of my home! The Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker works amazingly well! I tried it on a area rug that I have had for about 5 years now. I have a dog and a small spot cleaner that I would always use on this rug whenever there were any accidents. I always thought it was fairly clean until using this. I was so disgusted and excited to see all of the dirt that came out of the rug! It was extremely easy to use, and did not involve me bending down and scrubbing like my small spot cleaner. The dirty water tank does fill up very fast but I’m guessing that’s because it was very dirty. I did vacuum before using the CarpetXpert but the CarpetXpert made me realize my vacuum is not as strong as I thought because it still pulled out dog hair, that I was able to pick up! The smell of the solution is nice, and not overpowering. The CarpetXpert also comes apart very easily so that you can clean out all of the parts if there is dog hair or anything sticking to the brush. I have learned the hard way in the past that it is always best to clean out these types of machines after each use, so no additional dirt or stink stays in them!

Great for stains

I was shocked at how well the stains came up and it was actually fun using the carpet cleaner because it showed such an improvement.
