Love many advanced features-the Geo feature that adjusts the temperature when it registers my cell a certain distance to/from my home is fabulous! The feature that allows my service provider to adjust my temp (I can always over-ride) when the ‘grid’ is experiencing a heavy load, makes me feel as though I’m contributing in a small way. But I deducted a star because basic operation is not intuitive- I’m pretty savy and I cannot find some basic set up functions in the menu…. But the pros far outweigh this small inconvenience, I can always usd the thermostat itself.

Good if you get it for free, but if you need to pay for it, nest and ecobee are much better options. The app is pretty mid and the thermostat’s built in UI is quite confusing if you have no prior experience working with a Honeywell thermostat. It also make the old fashioned clicking sound of when it calls for heating or cooling, which neither nest nor ecobee does.

This thermostat works ok but does not have the ability to show anything except the current temp when idle. When you look at it all it shows is the current temp. It does not show if it is heating, cooling or off. Such a bad design. It does have a feature to keep the illumination on 24/7. When I look at a thermostat I want to see what mode it is in, what the set temp is and what the actual temp is. I contacted Honeywell and they said that's the way it works. It is so crazy to have a thermostat like this and it gives you no info until you touch it and wake it up.
