Firstly, it's missing simple, common features that competitors have, such as the ability to run the fan for a specified duration.
The app is kinda crappy, half the time when I launch it, it tells me i have no internet connection, which isn't true. So I have to force close and try again.
And, every time I launched it, it gave me a pop-up that I hadn't granted it location permissions, because it was required for geofencing features. Well I'm not using geofencing features! But i eventually had to cave and grant the privs. So it's a poor ecosystem citizen.
It’s ok. I don’t like that it has no option to set it to automatically switch from heating to cooling. I have an Ecobee thermostat and it is a couple of years older than the T6 and it does that. I had no opportunity to evaluate the thermostats features cause it was an emergency install by an HVAC company and the Honeywell was what they had on their truck.
The software was a bit confusing at first. But I figured it out. The automated setting are wonderful. Setting changes on my phone provides peace of mind.
Thermostat itself is great - app is impossible to set up with given instructions and once finally working, often gives incorrect (previous) temperature setting and incorrect (previous) current temperature when you open it.
