I love being able to check and adjust the schedule for my home at any time. I also like that a quick turn of the dial can adjust the temperature in my home quickly.

Nice thermostat... when it works!

My new Nest thermostat (3rd gen) died after several months where it completely lost its ability to pick up any WiFi signal whatsoever. I tried to troubleshoot it online and then ended up Tweeting with the folks at Google Nest support. Their final decision was to get a replacement head unit sent out to me free of charge and for me to send in my faulty one. The replacement is working great so far, but we'll see if it will maintain its WiFi connectivity a few months down the road. According to other consumers' reviews, this seems to be a common problem with the 3rd gen units... which I had no idea before making my original purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Owner of 4 Nest thermostats

I really like the thermostat and have owned 4 of them because of some moves. We currently have 2, for our residence and a vacation cottage in WI. They have all worked well, except we recently had a failure with the WI one this winter. I was aware of a temperature drop because I check it remotely and called a HVAC tech to determine the problem. The thermostat failed. Intend to replace.

my wife purchased this thermostat and i figured it would take all day to install actually took about and 1 hr and most of that was correcting the wire configuration so glad she got it it works just fine and easy to program.

Perfect for the vacation home

We purchased the Nest for our vacation home to help lower our energy bills, maintain adequate temperatures while away and allow remote management of our HVAC system. Over the past 2 months it has performed flawlessly and given us peace of mind because we can see current and historical perspectives of what is happening in our home - and gives us complete control from 600 miles away. We love it.

I have loved every minute of my Nest thermostat. It does everything I need it to do, and allows me to control it from anywhere.
