Wish I installed this when it first came out

Easy to install (came with a wall plate to cover up the hole in the wall from the previous installed thermostat), easy to use (set it on ECO and haven’t touched it since), easy to setup on Google Home system.
That said, unable to connect the Nest Protect to the Google Home system, and must use separate Nest App. Google Customer Service needs to take lessons from Apple.

Beautiful finish in Polished Steel

The Nest Thermostat 3 is a beautiful piece of hardware, especially in the new polished steel finish. The functionality is great, and there is something elegantly charming about the simplicity of the interface. The install was simple and well-documented, as always, by Nest. The main room for growth with the whole Nest suite of products is the app and subscription service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing

We upgraded our name brand 7 day programmable thermostat because it was running the Auxiliary Heat pump way to much. In December the savings for 1 mo was impressive... I have no doubt the device will be payed in full with savings before the winter is over. We are super excited to see how the summer settings work. If you use a Electric heat pump system this is a Must Have !

Frustration with

So far, the highlight is that the app very easy to use and the device itself is the same. What I find extremely frustrating is the difficulty in regulating/fine tuning the temperature in the house. At least 3 times a day I have to go an adjust it either alter the temp-whether it is cool or heat- and quite often have to switch from heat to cool to cool off the house. (We live in the south). What I miss the most about my old thermostat is that it made the adjustments quickly and then immediately stopped when I returned to main. It was also way more direct to use. Less steps and wheel turning. I am leaning to switching back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm delighted after four months of use. The sleek look, the automatic lighted dial and the easy to use display makes this my favorite home device. Even when away from home, family members are able to control from a smart phone. It exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it!
