Does Not Work

I asked the installer of my heating and air unit to install it for me when they came to look at my unit for a check up. He refused. And went on to tell me that he had installed a few and it messed up their units. So when my son came to visit - he installed it and it only worked on heat. He read on the internet others had trouble connecting....even though matching color to color wire....... Long and short - it is back in the box and not useable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Nest Learning Thermostat works with 95% of 24V heating and cooling systems, including gas, electric, forced air, heat pump, radiant, oil, hot water, solar, and geothermal. For dual fuel type systems, professional installation is recommended since their wiring and setup can be complicated.

Easy installation- easy to use! Love to set my thermostat when I'm on my way home so my house is cool by the time I get home.

My colleague recommended it and he saw a huge difference in his electric bill. He said it was easy to install and use. I agree with the use and install. It has been two weeks with the nest so I cannot confirm on savings for the electric bill yet. I love that you can schedule temps and the home/away feature. Furthermore, you can control ot without being at home.

Upgraded to the Nest thermostat two years ago for energy savings and control. Completely satisfied! The remote feature, the schedule setting are both fabulous. My home is comfortable year round and my energy costs are lower. Highly recommend Nest

Love Nest products

We bought our first Nest thermostat back when they were introduced. I had a job that required us to live overseas and this was the perfect match for what we needed. Since the Nest security cams and Protect came along, we got those too to add to our peace of mind. We've had the thermostat for about 8 years and the Protect and security cams for the past year or so and we've never had a problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!
