Beautiful

Love the Nest Thermostat! It’s simple to use and has a beautiful design. No more jumping out of bed in the cold to turn up the heat! And if I forget to turn it off, it knows I’ve left the house and turns off on it’s own!

Let me start off by saying I'm a middle aged woman who is only slightly technology literate. But I do consider myself a bit handy around the house. When I received the nest as a gift from my step dad because he wanted me to be the "guinea pig" and install and learn it so that I may teach him, I took on the challenge! I read the literature that came with the product and I watched the YouTube video. I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed and had doubt that I could install this without help. I decided to walk away until that feeling passed. I came back to it the next day and with the screwdriver that was provided in the product box, I went to work. I found that nest had covered absolutely everything that they needed to and then some was possibly the reason I was overwhelmed was because of OVER information! They had included every possible scenario under the sun. (Nothing wrong with that!) Which turns out that I had a super straight forward installation experience. After I went through the physical install, I ran the set up all on my own also. Downloaded the app and connected it. I walked away from this experience feeling smarter and more capable and more tech savvy than ever! So, thank you to Nest for making me feel that way! :)

Nest thermostat on oil heat

This thermostat has saved me so much money on heating oil this winter. I can control it from my phone and it knows when I leave so it lowers the heat settings to economy mode. I can easily control the temperature to save money on warmer days. I love the energy reports daily with the equipment and the monthly emails are great with total hours used. I can calculate my oil consumption and determine if I need more oil to heat my house or if I can make it through the winter. This is crucial as they typically jack the oil prices up in the winter so it’s beneficial for me to buy it cheap in the summer so I have enough to get through the winters. So far I’m saving a lot with the Nest!

Best thermostat I've used

I love the product. Does everything is days it does. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it can be difficult to figure out the current temp, and if you don't have power wired to the thermostat you will need to recharge it by taking it off the wall and plugging it in, and it can take a while to adequately recharge. This can be very inconvenient depending on when the battery dies, and there is no advanced warning for it.

Sleek, practical, having s co trip over the temperature in my rental unit is great , especially in Caribbean where the air conditions is important to prevent the mold inside the apartment. I can set it up the way I want and know that is in on the temperature which I selected.

Excellent product. I already owned one for the downstairs and liked it so much, I bought this second one for the upstairs. I like the functionality. It is easy to install and set up. I fully recommend this Nest Thermostat.

Free replacement

A few weeks ago my Nest Thermostat went off line. I went through all the trouble shooting steps but was still not able to get it back on line. I call Nest customer service and was quickly advised I would get a new Thermostat replacement. I received it promptly and set it up again. Works great.

This is the most expensive thermostat I have ever owned . However it is the most accurate and cost effective unit . It has flattened out my electric bills , also my pay back is two years . I have had this unit for 15 months with no issues. It was easy to set up and install, I installed it myself. I never do any adjustments at the unit , all are done from my phone. Love this feature.
