This pillow when first purchased does have an odor. I put the pillow and a box of baking soda in a trash bags and tied it tightly and left it for 2 weeks. The odor dismissed quit a lot. After a short time the odor went away. I have stenosis in my neck and this pillow is worth the fuss. I can't sleep with anything else.

I fell on the ice 8 years ago and had to have a discectomy and fusion of vertebra. My pain was so constant and severe that sleep was nearly impossible. This pillow has given me back my life! I had tried other memory foam, gel, down and various other expensive pillows but they were always too thick or too thin. This one is just right! If it could be just a bit less rigid it would be absolutely perfect, but for now it is wonderful!

Having just had surgery on my spine, the top vertebra in my neck, I was concerned about taking care of that while I slept, in light of all the different exercises I was doing to strengthen the muscles that had been severed so that the arthritis in my spinal column might get dug out. I had a similar pillow which I hadn't used in years and I broke it out to try. I was just beginning when my son, a physician, gave me my Tempur-pedic. It could not have been a finer gift.
