I still have my 30-year-old Kitchenaid mixer as a backup, but notice a few years ago that black flakes were falling into my food and decided to replace it with a newer model. Since I prefer the tilt head and have a lot of accessories for it, I went with an Artisan in a stunningly lovely shade of blue. The motor noise was horrendous, but I noticed if I treated it like a new car engine (going slow for awhile and varying the speed to give it time to break in), that the noise rapidly dropped to a closer decibel to that of my older model. It works as expected, nothing spectacular but nothing bad either, which along with longevity is all I really ask from a mixer. Only time will tell how long this will last, but in the weeks I've had it, I've been satisfied.

I never knew what I was missing! This mixer makes it a breeze to whip up a batch of treats! It is easy to use, and to clean. I am very happy with this purchase. I really only use it for mixing batters or doughs. I do not have any other attachments, so I can't speak to the use of them.

This mixer works great, I also got the paddle blade with the bowl scraper, That blade does a excellent job I do not have to scrape the bows or the paddle blade as I am using the mixer.
