I have the limited edition Gold Kitchenaid mixer. The color is wonderful, more like a soft gold. I first purchase the caviar color (black with silver specks). It looked like a dusty version of the black mixer so I returned it.
I initially was disappointed with the mixer. A gray residue came off when I hand washed the metal bowl no less than 3 times in a row, and it coated all of my cookie dough. The help center in Tennessee was incredibly helpful. The lady stated that there is a spray coating that is for the outside of the bowl, but that sometimes during production, the coating (which turns things gray), may make its way to the inside of the bowl. Her suggestion was to make a paste out of lemon juice and salt and rub the bowl with that paste. *Voila!* Problem solved. To celebrate I made 3 different types of cookie dough that same day. Wonderful appliance.

For many years I've wanted a KitchenAid mixer, but had one of another brand that was, well, ok for the occasional cake mix cake, so as a typical mom my $$ went towards other priorities. Now my kids are grown, I've reno-ed the kitchen and--of course--the crowning touch to the reno is my brand new blue KitchenAid mixer on the counter! Cakes from scratch mix up beautifully, and buttercream icing and meringue like NEVER BEFORE! Why did I wait so many years for this? Can't wait to try cinnamon buns (this weekend!) and bread! Have also purchased the grater attachment to give it even more of a workout (and to keep me eating veggies as well as the sweet treats ;)). Now my 4-yr-old grandson sleeps over every Friday night and the first q he asks is, "What are we going to make today?"--referring to baking. He works the mixer, adds ingredients--wish I could include a pic of his pride using it in this review (but I respect his family's right to privacy online)! This mixer is a beautiful workhorse that is going to support our family making great dishes and desserts for years to come!

I recently replaced my KitchenAid K-45 model (given to me by my husband for my birthday in 1975). It experienced lots of work through the years of making bread, on a weekly basis, and cookies, cakes, pasta and grinding of various meats. It never let me down. So, why did I replace it...no longer could the mixer not bounce up and down while mixing. So long, mighty mixer, I already miss you and all those tasty memories you and I created.

I've had this stand mixer for a year or more but recently bought the spiralizer slicer peeler attachment. I leave it assembled all of the time so it's easy to use daily! I wish I'd had this when my sweet husband was alive. He would have made lots of sliced dehydrated apples!
