After purchasing KitchenAid Stand Mixers as wedding gifts for my Daughter and Daughter-In-Law several years ago, I finally decided to treat myself this year. The difference in ease of use, thorough mixing and quiet operation compared to the inexpensive hand mixer I had been using is just amazing! I have a feeling there will be a lot more baking going on in this house now!

I bought this for a wedding gift for my nephew and his new wife. My husband bought me a KitchenAid years ago when my hand mixer broke. I thought 'leave it to a guy to bring home some monster appliance!' but I have thanked him over and over for my KitchenAid. I use it for baking, bread making, the attachments I use for canning tomato sauces and juices, grinding my own meats and making sausage. I have used a hand mixer all my life. Always wanted a free standing mixer. So this year as a gift, my huband splurged on this appliance mixer to make my kitchen life easier when preparing foods. These mixers are very expensive and hard to afford generally. I suggest making them affordable for the average/lower income homes. I have owned for only 2 weeks and have accessed this product... No more messy hands while preparing meatloaf. No more sore arm from holding a hand mixer for long periods of time. The various speed selections are great, cause I have found it seems to blend things to a more creamer texture because of the speed variances. The stainless steel bowl cleans up nicely with soap & water. I frowned at first when the manual read it is not reccommend to put any attachments or accessories in the dishwasher. I am very happy with mixer and the color silver too. It seems like a very heavy kitchen appliance,perhaps the company can work on making it more lightweight but still gripping a surface but yet still stern & sturdy enough to stay put on a flat surface. Seems like the size of the tilt head arm is quite large & cumbersome. Perhaps the company could look into reducing the size of it, and as a whole the mixer weighs alot to move from place to place throughout kitchen prep areas. Overall, I am pleased with this standing mixer.
