I bought this mixer to replace my old mixer that I had for over 15 years. I love the color selection. I wanted a fuschia or purple mixer but settled for a red one because my sons would not want to inherit a "girly" colored mixer...LOL. I love the fact that this mixer can do so many things with a few additional accessories. It's amazing how quietly the Kitchenaid operates. I like the fact that the bowl is stationary and only the beater moves. Changing the beater is super easy too. I don't know what I would do without the shield that came with mine. I make a big mess when I try to add ingredients without the shield attached. The shield keeps everything in line without the mess. I can't wait to get additional attachments so I can put this workhorse to even greater use.
