I bought this ice cream maker to make my grandson Dole Whips and it was easy to make and he loved them. Said he felt like he was back at Disney World so happy with the product.

My 10 year old daughter received this as a gift and we do love it! It makes ice cream so much fun and so easy and accessible.
I would give it one more star but there are two small disappointments that I have with it - actually with the recipe book not the product. The disappointments are that 1) all the recipes are quite high in fat and sugar. The ice cream recipes (while they do indicate you can use lower fat milk products) all call for heavy cream and all the sorbets call for so much sugar. The recipes aren't accessible to those of us on a diet :-( 2) My other disappointment is the surprise that most of the recipes take hours to complete due to the fact that you need to add all ingredients cold. There is a bunch of prep, then wait for chilling, then ice cream making. And a 3rd item worth noting - 3) it takes 17 hours to chill the tub for mixing. We keep it frozen in our freezer all the time to facilitate a "quick" decision to make ice cream but not everyone has the room so you need to prepare in advance if that's the case to ensure you freeze the thing the day before!
This is still a great fun thing to have at home but worth noting the items above before getting too gung-ho.

I bought this because we live 30 minutes from the nearest store and in the heat of the south it is hard to get ice cream home without melting. This has been wonderful, it is so easy and I'm told the best ice cream they have ever had. I know everything that goes in to mine which is important.
The only thing is it is hard to scrape the ice cream off the paddle, on big deal.

I haven't made any sorbets or yogurts but made Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Chocolate. Oh my goodness!!!! Delicious doesn't cover it. Those were recipes that came in the manual and there's a lot of them. This machine was rated on Americas Test Kitchen and it came in #1 out of quite a few. Wonderful purchase and GREAT price compared to others. Going to buy more for gifts. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.
