Not at all what I expected. I ruined lots of ingredients trying to make simple ice cream. The ice cream right out of the drum was very soft but edible if I wanted it that way. However I didn't want to eat it immediately and once I put it in the ice cream containers, specifically made for the purpose of freezer storage, it turned rock solid. This was frustrating. I tried several different methods but the end result was always the same. The amount frozen to the inside of the drum was also a waste of ingredients since it had to melt to be removed. I sent the maker back because it wasn't worth the time, trouble, or money.

The ice cream is delicious, serves 6. The fully chilled mix need to be added when the dasher/paddle device is running. Adding the mix and assembling the paddle gets stuck as the mixes quickly freezes to the side of the chilled outer container. The fresh ice cream is "custard style" and if hard ice cream is desired, need time in a seperate bowl in the freezer. It is hard to remove all of the ice cream from the freeze bowl, the results are great as a home ice cream appliance.

Can't make frozen yogurt from yogurt: seems the mix is too thick for the blade. I'll try making it thinner with milk, but I am disappointed. Seems OK for a runny custard thickness, as with an egg-thickened base.

This was so easy to use. It was quieter than I anticipated. It worked quickly and recipes are as simple or complicated as you make them. This is a great product.
