I love my new appliance. I use it all the time! I was so excited to receive this as a gift and never would have bought one for myself. If you are thinking about buying one… do it! So easy to use.

I bought my ice cream maker a few months ago, have used it a lot of times, and love that it makes the best ice cream. After my ice cream churns, I allow it to freeze for at least four hours because I prefer it not to be soft. Also, immediately after using my ice cream maker, I thoroughly rinse it with warm water and put it back in the freezer, until it’s time to use it again. The only thing I wish for now is a larger-sized I’ve cream maker.

I bought this since it was highly recommended by Cook's Country (a sub-brand of America's Test Kitchen [a subsidiary of Cook's Country). I already made Pineapple Sherbet and Vanilla Ice Cream using the Test Kitchen recipes. Both came yielded very smooth and creamy.
I also saw the product review video by Vox Media's Eater, they don't recommend this due to the fact that it never made ice cream. However, they forgot to insert the paddle, so it never churned during that vid.

Wife gave me this for Christmas. I have been making custard base ice creams. The vanilla bean recipe that comes with the instruction booklet is wonderful. Machine beats using ice and salt. The ice cream is like a soft service custard but freezing or curing it overnight in the deep freeze really puts the finishing touches on the texture and taste. You should get the machine with two of the tubs. I make double batches that way. Today I made three batches by cleaning one of the tubs after I had just finished the first batch and placing that tub back in the deep freeze for a few hours while I ran errands. Made the third batch in it and it worked fine.

I bought this because I have always trusted the quality of Cuisinart products. But I tried two different recipes and each time, once the "ice cream" was transferred to the freezer, they became solid block of frozen ingredients. I could only break them up with an ice pick... and that after it had been thawing for over an hour.

I start it. Insert my 3 ingredients: cream, milk and creamy peanut butter. It conks out. So now I just hand turn until it's mixed and I get a wet, cold tasty dessert.
