The machine works well and is easy to use. The capacity is about one cup too small as most recipes overflow the freezing bowl. When that happens, liquid can easily flow into the base and it is impossible to clean entirely. You also have a special screw in the base to prevent the owner from opening and cleaning the inside of the base.

I bought this on the recommendation of my sister. I thought it would be great for my great nieces and nephews to see how the process of making ice cream was done. The very first time we made it (with my 5 year old and 3 year old great nieces) was for a family and friends dinner. They mixed the cream, milk and added sugar, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Poured it in the pre frozen container. Fifteen minutes later they each added a scoop of mini m&m's and when it was done they passed it out in little ice cream bowls. They loved the experience and everyone loved the ice-cream and had seconds too. We are doing mint chocolate chip next time. It was so easy!!! and clean up a breeze. The tub has a permanent place in my freezer for those spur of the moments ice cream cravings!!!

Got the ice cream maker for a gift after raving about the wonderful ice cream our son
in law makes with his machine. We’ve enjoyed making our favorite flavors and don’t feel guilty eating them. There’re healthier then the grocery store version as they don’t have all those unhealthy ingredients in them. We make ours with half and half or home made yogurt, vanilla and a bit of honey to sweeten. We sometimes also add fresh fruit. Very easy to use.

Love love love this ice cream maker! Our sons LOVE ice cream which made this a perfect gift this Christmas. We have used this at-least twice a week every week since. We keep the bowl in an upright freezer and it’s waiting for it’s next use. Just plop it into the base, place the insert and cover and you are ready to go! No small pieces to make it hard to clean or to lose.

I love this little guy! I always assumed making ice cream was way too much trouble to be worth it. Now, it's an impulse project, I just stir together the ingredients, pour them in the machine, and walk away. 20 minutes later, I get a treat!
There are only two drawbacks to this machine, both of which I can live with. First, you do need to freeze the bowl of the ice cream maker in advance. (Ours just lives in the freezer now, but others might be more pressed for space.)
Second, I haven't figured out how to clean it without freezing my hands and making a big mess. The paddle isn't a super easy shape to scrape, and sometimes it gets stuck in the ice cream. I wouldn't be surprised if one day it snaps when I try to take it out, but at least they sell replacement parts.
