So simple to use. The recipe is also very simple which is great. I made some today, 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup whole milk, 3/4 cup sugar, 1T pure vanilla extract. Mix is all together-I wait until the next day to put it in machine and 25 minutes later you have soft serve. I had candy to it and put it back in freezer to harden it up-but this is optional-you can eat it as soft serve of course. Very easy to clean.

I can't believe how fast this machine works! The first thing I tried was frozen berry yogurt and it only took 15 minutes to be ready; the same was true for the cherry/chocolate chunk vanilla ice cream I made next (I like to experiment). The results? Delicious!! One note is that I keep the bowl in my deep freeze, which is probably one reason it works so quickly for me. I'm not sure it would be the same from the freezer compartment of my refrigerator. Either way, I definitely recommend this gem of an appliance!

Makes delicious ice cream with limited ingredients. It's somewhat soft serve at first although It does help to refrigerate the mixture prior to use. After freezing for several hours, it's hard frozen, no ice crystals.

This appliance works well if you follow the directions. If you are making recipes other than those in the Cuisinart booklet, make sure you don't overfill the bowl, as it will overflow, making the machine harder to clean and wasting the cream, eggs, etc. There are some tiny nooks in the paddle (dasher) that are very difficult to clean without a toothbrush. We've made the Joy of Cooking custard-type recipe twice, adding strawberries that had been frozen with sugar (and then thawed) toward the end of the churning. Delicious ice cream without any additives.
