I have made ice cream and sorbet in this machine and they came out perfectly. I no longer buy ice cream or sorbet. Easy to use, but don't use the recipes in the book. Instead substitute half and half where their recipe says to use milk.

My niece has a fructose/sugar intolerance. As such, I need to make custom ice cream using glucose. This machine is perfect. Makes about 3+ cups in 15 to 20 minutes. Regular ice cream is delicious too.

I received a GC to a local business that carry's small appliances, and would not think to buy an Ice Cream maker for myself, so this was a perfect treat. This makes the perfect amount of Ice Cream, and is so easy to use. Follow the instructions for freezing the container in advance, and ingredients prep and it will come out perfect every time. I have experimented with flavors and additions, from making ginger Ice Cream to frozen yogurt, and decadent chocolate brownie.

We are avid homemade ice cream makers. We use every excuse we can to make homemade ice cream...birthdays, holidays, made up holidays...you get the idea. For our parties, we usually make 2-3 batches of ice cream with our 6 quart ice cream maker. But my son purchased this Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker for him and his wife, and absolutely loved it, so he recommended it to us. As much as we love making ice cream for a crowd...it's also kind of a hassle with the ice and salt mixture. So we were thrilled to order this small version to make ice cream for just the two of us...without the hassle of using salt and ice. Let me tell you, this thing is wonderful!!! We have tried chocolate, vanilla, and butter pecan. All were so delicious! And this makes just the right amount for us. My only suggestion to others is to make sure and follow the directions EXACTLY! It makes a difference. The directions are very clear, but our son tried to 'side step' the directions and their batch didn't turn out the first time. But lesson learned. Follow the directions. We are purchasing another one of these for my 90 year old mother who also loves homemade ice cream. Thank you for making this great product!

I bought this ice cream maker in hopes of making awesome ice cream. I have some good recipes and this maker isn't too bad it just jamms up pretty quickly and the plastic mixer is not that durable its pretty thin. I have made some good low carb ice cream but will invest in a more durable machine.

I had "lost" the freezer bowl from a previous Cuisinart ice cream maker and saw this one on sale and it was cheaper to buy a new one (with two bowls) than a replacement bowl. The new one has a slightly different design than my previous one but still works just as good. One must remember to have the bowl properly frozen and the ingredients completely cooled before attempting to proceed with the recipe (plainly stated in the instructions), then it only takes 20-30 minutes for soft serve ice cream. I've tried the butter-pecan, the vanilla, and the chocolate recipes that are included in the manual. All were very tasty and worked very well in the "freezer". (I recently found the "lost freezer bowl", hidden in the back of the extra freezer in the garage, I will give that one to a friend)

This is our second Cuisinart Ice Cream maker and it is even more awesome because now we realize our freezer was not good enough with the first one to maintain zero degrees. I have made multiple batches of the following: lemon ice; raspberry ice; vanilla ice cream; rum raisin vanilla ice cream; strawberry ice cream and chocolate ice cream and they were all excellent quality. I learned that as soon as the batch reaches the soft serve stage (in about 5-7 minutes) I can put it into the containers and it will finish reaching ideal consistency in the freezer. This allows me to make several batches at one time with the unit still frozen enough to do all that work. I purchased 100 4oz clear cups with lids and they make a perfect serving size. I can finish a batch in less than 15 minutes after all preparation work and have the cups in the freezer within that time. We love it! Give it a try, you will find it so easy and you can control your ingredients....what could be better?
