I used the Krups Glacier and it has been superior. I only used the Cuisinart once so far and the way it works is that it didn't really get the consistency very well--after the ice cream developed a bit, it got stuck and just turned together with the ice cream maker piece (it could no longer be developed).

I've been using the machine to make a lot of sorbets - with a sugar substitute. Super effective way to fill a sweet craving with what is basically frozen fruit puree, and it's fun to make up my own flavor combinations. I can't believe that an appliance with so few parts can be so effective. I keep the bowl in my freezer and ready to go. The machine often makes a batch of sorbet in less time than the manual indicates. I've also found that I can get two back-to-back runs of sorbet out of a solidly frozen bowl. Each run produces about three pints. One tip - wait for the bowl to warm up a little before you wash it, otherwise you'll end up with frozen dishwater stuck to the inside. Hahaaa

Very easy to use, but keep these things in mind. 1. Follow directions to have everything ready, then pull container from freezer, assemble and turn on machine, then pour in the prepared "soup". 2. after 10 minutes keep an eye on it, sometimes as it is thickening up the top half of the batch is not doing anything and you need to use a spoon to get it moving so batch is consistent. 3. Be sure you have your containers and a scoop and spatula ready before it finishes, otherwise you might face melted ice cream and stuck on ice cream in the bowl as once you stop it freezes to the side. 4. I bought the Tovolo round ice cream container, it is great as it fits nicely inside the freezer container for the machine so can store it in freezer without loosing too much space. Tried the cheesecake ice cream recipe in booklet, delicious but way too sweet and rich, also tried the mint with our own chocolate mint leaves, yummy. The recipes with milk are a bit icy and taste best freshly made. The cheesecake one was great no matter when we had it but could only eat 1 or 2 spoonfuls it was so rich.

Very nice. Quite pleased. Love the wide top opening. I bought this to replace an ice cream freezer that no longer worked. I tried this new one it at home, once, then brought it to my son and daughter-in-laws home in Tennessee. We made cherry vanilla, for my now nine-year old’s birthday. I then made a mixture of cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt and refrigerated it. The next day the grandchildren and I prepared to make “Chocolate Lace and Cream” ice cream. I started the machine and excitedly said, “Now just pour it all in, Jimmy!” On, no! I forgot to place the freezing unit in! The liquid ran through the machine and ran all over the counter and floor. “I was wondering why you didn’t get the freezing bowl out of the freezer, Nana!” said the birthday boy. Warning. Don’t do this! I am buying another one for our home. Family has made 4 different ice cream flavors in the last week. Time for a diet!

Big improvement over our previous model which left a thick layer of hard ice cream on the canister after churning, and was nearly impossible to remove. This new paddle design leaves a very thin layer on the canister, which scrapes off easily. We’re happy we upgraded!

I am a diabetic, lactose intolerant individual. I have very little selection available where ice cream does not contain sugar AND does not contain lactose. Most store-bought ice creams contain either no-added sugars or no lactose only. My children gifted me this Ice Cream making machine and now I can enjoy a delicious ice cream made only with natural ingredients, no added sugars, and no lactose! It also makes delicious Sorbet, gelato, and more! It takes only 15-20 minutes to make. I love serving it fresh from the container, and all my family LOVES it! I am working on more recipes and flavors. Always making sure my glucose levels are not affected. So far, so good!

We love our new Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker! It's like magic - We put the bowl in the freezer, use the simple recipe to mix the ingredients and store them in the frig, put the bowl on the base with the paddle and cover, turn it on, pour the mix into the bowl and in minutes we had the most delicious, rich ice cream ever. True love!

Bought around a month ago and I used it twice so far. It's so easy to use and makes wonderful ice cream. So far, I've made french vanilla and pineapple ice cream. The pineapple was supposed to be mango, but I grabbed the wrong bag from the freezer section of the store. What a surprise. It came out delicious, regardless. Highly recommend.
