We have been disgusted by all the garbage additives put into commercial ice cream for some time. We decided to pull the trigger on this machine to attempt to make our own healthy alternative to store-bought and WOW! This machine will definitely not be gathering dust in the back of a cupboard! We LOVE it--so easy to use and clean up! Will be buying another bowl soon so we can make multiple batches at the same time! (And we love that it doesn't require ice or salt to function!)

I bought this originally to make pineapple sherbet that is so hard to find in stores. After making that, plus vanilla, chocolate and butter pecan ice cream, I don’t know how I lived this long with this machine. I bought this size so it would make enough for my husband and myself. Found out one batch will make about 4-5 servings for us. I do freeze the paddle along with the bucket as some one else suggested and found my ice cream/sherbet is soft serve-ready in 10-15 minutes. I am now experimenting using skim milk substitution for some of the whole milk/cream. It is not that loud to be annoying as some have stated, not different than other ice cream makers. I highly recommend this Cuisinart ice cream maker.

This is my first ice cream maker purchase and I’m so glad I chose this cuisinart. I didn’t want or need a large machine. It makes 1 1/2 quarts which is perfect for me. Also it couldn’t be easier to use. You need to put the bowl in the freezer in advance (at least 24 hours) then you put the bowl in the base, add the paddle and the cover and press the on button. Once the machine is turned on then you add the ingredients. Wait about 15-20 minutes and you have delicious ice cream.
