So disappointed

I have had my washer for two years and the warranty only covers the first year. Smart move on LG because it broke two years after having it, it said dE (door error) so truly there was nothing wrong with the machine except the control board broke and had nothing to do with the consumer just LG making not reliable products. To fix it it cost how much I would pay to get a new washer. I will never buy LG products again.
Pros: Performance, Quality

Don't buy. Product died in 2.5 years

Like the other reviewers have said, the lack of a lint trap is a major design flaw. At least once a year, someone had to clear the lint from the unit.
Even worse, after 2.5 years, the unit's electronics burned up and stopped working. And it now it is out of warranty. Life is not good.

Raving Fan about this combo!!

I first started using this w/d combo at least a year ago when we down sized from a 3B/2BA house in Florida to a 1B apartment in North Carolina (and we have since moved back up to a 3B duplex). My husband had moved in about 2 weeks ahead of me and was unable to figure out how to dry the clothes. So I viewed it with some trepidation. The first thing I did - which I really recommend to everyone - is to read the manual. It really explains everything you need to know. I was thrilled to learn that the combo only needs about 2 tablespoons of detergent to wash, a bit concerned that I would need to clean the tub each month, but really excited that I could set it up to dry clothes. Imagine how impressed I was that my first load actually cleaned out some previous set-in stains. A couple of things to keep in mind - I have found that one big reason why clothes wrinkle is if they are washed on the wrong setting per the manufacturer's instructions - if the wash instructions say gentle cycle, do not throw it into perm press; do your monthly cleaning, it's really easy; let the load cool down a bit after the spin/dry cycle. Also, do make sure you run the high speed spin to level the appliance before using - we only used the moderate one and it danced across the floor the first time I used the high speed. I really rave about this machine. I will never go back to a conventional appliance. The only reason I am not giving this a 5 star is because this model does not have a compartment for bleach. In fact, I convinced a friend of mine to buy the larger size recently for her family, which does have a bleach compartment - she likes it too. What else can I say? It looks great, sings to me when a load is finished and keeps me excited about washing clothes.

LOVE THIS WASHER/DRYER

This appliance is PERFECT on all counts: it is great for an apartment because of its size and small footprint. It washes beautifully. I've had full-size GE, Kenmore and Whirlpool washers and this beats them all. The clothes come out perfectly dry ...I don't have the damp issues others have experienced. If you really combine how long it would take to wash & dry a load of clothes in the conventional washer it's a tad longer but the convenience of not having to remember to unload the washer is well worth it ... can't tell you how many times I'd forget to unload the washer in the past - so clothes would often sit in the washer for hours. I also love the cool down setting that will continue to tumble the clothes periodically for up to 4 hours to keep wrinkles from setting in. That's a great help. The unit is very quiet and I love the musical notes instead of that annoying beeeep that is the typical reminder sound.
The only drawback that I don't like is not being able to use bleach. Not sure why LG would make a washer that does not allow for that very necessary component. I use the color safe bleach but would still prefer to use Chlorine bleach for whites. I contemplated getting the other model that does have the bleach component but the footprint was too large to fit in the laundry closet in my apartment.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for value is because it is a tad pricey...but the quality is superior.
If you have a small space or just don't have the need to do huge loads of clothes I HIGHLY recommend this appliance.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quality

I Love Doing Laundry With This Machine

What a wonderful washer/dryer combo. It took me a little bit of time to get familiar with but well worth it. I am able to wash and dry good size loads. Clothing comes out dry and soft. My bulk size and hand wash loads come out slightly damp (without drying!) and ready to air dry. It fits perfectly in my small apartment and it so so quiet I hardly know it is running. There are so many features to this machine that I appreciate -especially the cool down cycle (keeping clothes wrinkly free) and the lovely tones it plays when the wash is done! I have for the past 18 years owned another Brands washer/dryer combo and the quality of the LG is so far beyond what I was using-- I wish I switched to LG years ago!! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in a washer dryer combo.

A bad Investment

I've had the same problems as the 2 reviews posted before mine. I am on the 2 replacement, there is no way of cleaning the lint, so every time the dryer function brakes down i need to call a specialist, this is about every 4 months. It's a very problematic machine, and it brakes down very easily.
DO NOT BUY IT!
Pros: Performance, bad quality

Thought it would be cool to have a washer/dryer in one combo...boy was i wrong. I would rather buy a washer and dryer seperately..this combo is great for ppl that have nothing to do in a 24 hour period! It might save on the water bill but it surely runs up your electric bill...I've never seen a machine that takes 2 1/2 hours just to wash and dry and then you have to take half the laundry out you just washed so it can dry...so not covienent!!
