LacColombe is a local roaster and coffee shop in my home area. They have some of the best coffee anywhere and now finally available in Kcups. My wife and I are both in love with this coffee. Dark, smooth, and not a touch of bitterness. Well worth the extra cost.
We received this as part of the sample mix pack, and it instantly became a favorite. It has a strong intensity but very flavorful and not at all bitter or bitey. Do you ever take a first sip of a dark coffee and feel like it slaps you with its intensity? Corsica does not, just a big smooth tasty cup.
I like this coffee but I like it better made in the 12oz cup size. My first cup was around 10oz and it was a little ashy tasting. More water made it better. I added a little frothed milk to it and that helped too.
This is a full bodied coffee. If you love drinking coffee that tastes and feels like a cup of coffee should, this is it. It is strong, with absolutely no bitterness at all. It has a sweet under note to it, that makes you happy your drinking it. This is now my favorite coffee.
Sitting with a cup of this Columbian coffee is like sitting in a diner that always has a good fresh pot of coffee ready. Nice taste, pleasant to spend a few minutes with.
Along with Brazilian coffee, Columbian coffee is my preference any day. Coffee made from "Arabica" beans hail from off the south of the Arab peninsula, west of Yemen in Ethiopia literally on African soil. To me. Ethiopia being such a poor country, it seems to me they are being exploited, but I don't intend to say this with 100% certainty, the point being Arabica beans being as popular and common as they are makes coffee from South America more appealing to me.
It's in the soil, like tobacco for cigars grown certain types of soil. The more expensive cigars are usually grown in the best soil under the most desirable conditions.
Likewise with the coffee beans used for this particular variety is my conclusion.
For all I know Arabican beans were used and grown in South America. Or not. I don't know. It's late. Been a long day. I forgot to look.
Is it a good value? I bought this as it was included on a deal for two boxes of pods and two Keurig coffee mugs I like. I didn't realize there were only 10 pods in each box.
It's a good quality tasting cuppa' like at a diner, to my taste.
I suppose I saw the request for feedback and otherwise put it off as non-high priority, so this review is a result of that procrastinatination. No extra charge for the rambling coffee manifesto.
