I enjoy having this occasionally to add a variety in my coffee lineup. I do prefer lavender matcha rather than coffee, I feel like the flavors compliment each other better.
Because I love lavender so much, I took a risk on this Starbucks blend (even though I'm not a big fan of the traditional smoky taste of Starbucks beans). I wondered how they were going to put delicate floral over charcoal successfully. Well, the beans aren't smoky, for one. They are mild and not charred. There is a light vanilla taste. The disappointment is that I really have to struggle to perceive any lavender. There is a "brightness" and "lightness" to the vanilla, which I'm sure is from the lavender note. Overall, a nice smooth blend that is 1,000 times more drinkable (to me) than regular Starbucks. But I'm sad that the lavender is predominantly on the label. I don't think I would identify the lavender at all in a blind taste test. Good, but needs the lavender to step forward to be great.
This one was quite different cannot say whether I like it or not. I am usually not a Starbucks fan. But will drink it for something different in my day.
