Initial use staples are not coming out

I just bought to do some basic stapling and it works well but first use I had to keep reopening the staple well and reseat the plunger to get staples to come out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace my broken stapler. Great feel and very easy to operate. Love that it shoots brads, came in handy for fixing a dresser drawer that was pulling apart.
