For anyone how had the older power shot, don't be afraid of this one. Gave two of the old power shots away, but this new style works great, every time. A half inch staples did not go completely into pine. 1/4 staple went in very well. Over all this is a great stapler, would recomend it to my friends.
Pros: General Repairs

We bought this item to do a simple repair of exchanging out fabric on a vanity stool. The nails we used were 1/2 inch. Half of the time the nails went entirely in and the other half of the time they did not. Not sure if it had to do with what we were stapling into which was dry wood. We are going to try a shorter nail and hope that we don't have this problem. The weight is light and the grip is very comfortable.
Pros: Upholstery

Hello, there. The PowerShot Advanced Professional Staple Gun was designed to shoot the full range of T50 staples and 5/8-inch brad nails, not a 1/2-inch brad nail. Our T50Elite Professional Staple and Gun & Nailer, however, does shoot up to 1/2-inch brads. That being said, for upholstery projects we recommend using a staple rather than a brad nail because there is more surface area on a staple to hold fabric. To choose the right staple size, first look at the type of fabric involved your project. If it's a thicker fabric, you'll need a longer staple, especially if you are also using the staple to hold batting. For hard woods, you should pick the shortest leg length you can based on the fabric. Our best-selling staple size for most upholstery projects is the T50 staple in 3/8-inch. Exceptions would be using T50 staples in 5/16-inch for harder woods or our T50 staples in 1/2-inch for thick material and batting. If you have any further questions about the T50HS staple gun, please contact us at customercare@arrowfastener.com.

Bought this stapler to build things for a school activity because the heavy duty stapler we had was too hard to use. This was much more comfortable to use, lighter weight and did the job for me. Even the guys doing the "big" projects preferred using it.
We had a problem in the beginning because it wouldn't work with a whole row of staples inserted. Once we shortened the row of staples, it worked just fine. So far, that's my only complaint.
Pros: General Repairs
