Firmware updates can only be performed through the cable provider. Xfinity/Comcast has never provided an update. They do not appear to support third party equipment with updates. Only their own supplied equipment receives updates. As a result gaining access to parental controls is very difficult and not very effective.

Wish I owned this sooner

Surprisingly easy to install. I didn’t need to call Comcast to do the installation. I simply launched their activation website and responded to the prompts to activate my internet service. After installation, the reliability issues I had been having were totally corrected.

Great upgrade

I got the modem to replace the Xfinity (no more "rent" payment) modem. Great design and small footprint for the powerhouse that it is. I experience no lag in gaming and no picture downgrade while streaming. Overall just a great product.

I purchased it because it has both in built modem and router and also had the capability to transmit blast speed but when I wanted to use it as a WiFi extender was not able to do so.

Like the hardware my only complaint I did not know I couldn’t log into my gateway unless I’m on the WiFi! Just recently was without a internet connection from my ISP could not connect to there free WiFi because it would never display the SSID still have not figured out why I can only pickup within my house. I’m not even able to use my Hotspot.

I purchased this modem router combo to replace the one from my internet provider. Saving me some money. After more than one month searching and reviewing several models, I decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you this, it phenomenal. Signal is more consistent and it reaches the whole house. I have made some speed test and I’m very pleased with the results. Surely, I will recommend this device.
