Purchased to replace stock unit that came with Xfinity. A better system that hasnt had any drops and is saving money!!

Powerful, but......

I had a Motorola Surfboard that finally failed after 5 years of hardcore gaming, streaming and connections with a household full of devices. I had to go up in my selection to provide a connection that would overshadow what we were getting. We truly enjoy the power this cable modem router (C7000v2) provides. Being able to administrate my home network is pretty robust. So much so, that I’ve had to factory reset it. I’m sure it’s due to enabling access controls while attempting to enable the different networks at the dual frequencies. It worked well for a while, not sure what happened. Probably me. Speeds are great and handles the many devices that connect to it. I haven’t even utilized the storage capabilities yet, so there’s plenty of options offered. Now here’s the but.....it’s too easy to break into. I’m not referring to the default settings, but connecting to the router and being able to reset the password needs a little more securing in my humble opinion. The support structure needs to be looked at as that determines if I will return as a retained customer. I like to buy technology that is “future proof” but not before the technology has matured (WiFi6). Overall, well worth buying to be able to save money over renting from the ISP. I’m confident that this router will last for years to come. Just not happy about the lack of support after 90 days.

Works very well!

This cable modem router works very well. We live in a decently sized 3 story townhouse and we have a strong connection in all rooms. We have owned it for about a year and have only needed to turn it off and back on a 2-3 times which is far better than we experienced with pas modem routers
