I have always relied on the rental modems that the cable companies provided however after being fed up of the inconsistent performance. I decided to make an investment in a router modem. My decision turned out to be perfect - it was easy to set up and the app allows me to monitor my traffic on a level I’ve never had before! This investment will pay itself off as I’ll never had to pay for a rental again AND I’ll be able to take full advantage of the actual internet speeds I’m paying for!
My new Modem/Router took out the bandwidth bottleneck I had. Gave me every bit of speed my ISP promised. However, if you have more than one gamer in the house playing the same game you may have trouble.
I bought this about a month ago and it installed fine but when I was trying to open UDP port 123,500 and 4600 for Cellspot by Tmobile it will not do it. I called Netgear support and talked to Level 1 support on April 15 she tried it and could not help me so she tranfere to level 2 > He spent few hours to fix the problem with remote session and finally he told me that he will have to refer to Engineering. This is been going on for 4 weeks and still is not resolved. Each time I call them they tell me that Engineering has not responded. I call them every couple of days. Their support is overseas and I tried to call corporate office in California but no one answers the phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
