My old router and modem were separate and at least 5 years old. I had frequent short term disconnects while watching TV and a complete reset at least every 2 months. the new combination modem router was affordable and works better. I still have a few delay/resets while watching tv but the signal speed and quality are significantly better. I now have 5 G and the quality of video and cell pictures is improved.
