Good modem router

So far working good, had about a week. Dont notice a huge difference in wifi performance but boyfriend wanted to try it. Instructions that came with stated to download nighthawk app but on both our phones we could not get past the needing a firmware update page and gave us no instructions on what else to do. Had to do extensive online searching to get an app that would finally work for the router which was just the netgear app.

The modem is good but sometimes the signal drops. The netgear nighthawk application on phone does not work well.

Disappointed at lack of features

I purchased this router for the parental controls, and was disappointed when I set it up to learn Netgear is discontinuing that program as of April 1. (Purchased before this date and was unaware of this upcoming limitation). I also have been unable to use the app as the app says my firmware is out of date. However, I confirmed per the Netgear Support page that my firmware is the most current version supported by my ISP. I could not get Netgear Support Team to resolve this issue. Their only resolution was to reboot the router. Overall, I found the router and support was not user friendly and lacked in features that can easily be found in other competitor products.

Thank you for your review on the C7000 features. Your router will be compatible with smart parental controls in the future. If you are on an older firmware version you will need to connect with your service provider to have them send the update to your product.
