I think its a good vacuum for small spaces.

This is the first Shark vacuum I’ve bought. I had trouble with assembly as some illustrations were too small to clearly show how to put the vac together. Once, I got the vac together I discovered that I had cut my hand during the process. Unappreciative of that. Standing fully upright the vac is awkwardly tall for a short person because of the wand. I think connecting the power cord at the top makes me concerned about the wear and tear at this point. I like the bright headlight! And I’m glad for the quieter motor over all other vacs I’ve owned. The low nozzle design allows for easy pivoting under furniture which I like. However, the handheld vac attached at the top of the wand makes the vacuum top-heavy leading to not complete control of the vacuum itself. Dust cup is easy to remove and dump. Including the precision duster as a part of the overall package is not a tool I would find all that useful. I would rather that it be an “available accessory”. Other available accessories would be more useful to me.

Don't buy!

I bought this vacuum and it only lasted about 10 min and then it overheated and shut off! I thought I received a bad one so I returned it and received another one but it does the same thing it worked great the 1st time using it but after that u have to clean the filter after each use and keep the small cup emptied for it to suck anything up and then still only lasts a few minutes and then it gets extremely hot and shuts down, I'm extremely disappointed, I bought this just to use in my camp trailer and I can't even vacuum the small carpet area in there with it without it overheating!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Read this before you buy

I've been using this vacuum for almost 2 years. It was designed by someone who doesn't use vacuums. When assembled, it doesn't stand upright; you have to lay it flat on the ground because it falls over due to its poor design. The debris bin capacity is very very very small; this means you have to vacuum the same room 3 times and empty the debris bin every few minutes. Although my vacuum is still going strong and the beater bar doesn't get clogged with hair like my big Shark vacuums did, this vacuum only makes sense for people who live in a nearly sterile RV environment (or very tiny home) without any pets/pet hair, and for people who don't mind laying the vacuum down and picking it back up off the floor every time they need to pause vacuuming. It does switch seamlessly between carpet vs. non-carpet floors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst vacuum ever owned

This thing is absolutely garbage for pets. We have 4 dogs in our house, and I can't even use the vacuum for 1 pass over the house. The motor overheats and just shuts off. The hair immediately gets stuf inside the vacuum tube because of the design of the catch can. If it runs for more than 5 minutes I have to dump it out 3 times to make sure nothing is clogged. Can't shout this loud enough. Do not buy the shark stick vacuums. They are the worst

Power Button Won't Stay On -EDIT

EDIT: I had been pushing the ON button completely with my thumb and it wouldn't stay on. My hubby, thru experimenting with the ON button, found that if he pushed the top of the button, the machine would come on but not stay on. If he pushed the bottom of the button, it clicked and stayed on. It's more of a toggle-type button. So yeah, a stupid mistake but one that was not mentioned in any Shark materials that came with the machine or that I researched on Shark's website. That being said, the suction is as expected from Shark - very strong. I am now giving it 4 stars because (1) it doesn't stand upright unless you remove the liftoff and hang it on the bottom of the vac; (2) the dirt cup is quite small and requires frequent emptying; and (3) it's hard to push on thick carpet. I think I will still love it, but I ask Shark to review their instructional materials so operators understand that just pushing the ON button won't keep the vac on. I just received the HZ700 UltraLight Pet Pro PowerFins stick vacuum at 3:30 pm. I got it all assembled and tried turning it on. The power button won't stay on unless I hold it down while using the vacuum. I've read the owner's guide, no help. Tried to get help online but I'm in Utah MDT and Shark is in EDT and they're closed, so no help there. I cannot imagine having to hold the power button down while vacuuming. I will leave another review if I get this resolved, but for now I'm very unsatisfied. This vacuum replaces a Shark Duo that we've had for years and loved. We also have 2 Shark Robot Vacs, so we are a Shark Family. I'll probably have to return it and we are an hour from the city in a rural part of Utah. This is not acceptable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first shark I have owned, especially a stick vacuum. The suction is great picked up the carpet fresher that my old one dd not. Easy and compact to use on steps and every where. The little air freshener cartridge is a great add on.
