I bought this vacuum so I would have to carry a vacuum upstairs anymore. I have 2 labradors. This vacuum does not work if you have lots of hair to pick up even though it is marketed as petpro. The hair gets twisted around the filter and never gets to the dust cup. This reduces suction immediately after starting to vacuum and you have to empty the vacuum to fix this even though there is nothing in the dust cup. This is the first time I have been sorely disappointed in a shark product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not good on thicker carpets

I bought this about 2 months ago because I liked the fact it doesn't have a brush roller that gets clogged
up with pet hair. It works fine but, while advertised for use on both hard surfaces and and carpets. Works great
on hard surfaces but marginal on carpets. Low pile carpets aren't a problem for it but anything higher it is very difficult.
You have to push hard to move it across the carpet. It does clean it but it's not easy on you. The vacuum has settings
for hard or carpet. If the designers would have simply provided two levels for carpet, this would not be an issue.
In addition, it will not stand on its own. You have to lean it up against something to keep it from falling over.
Design issue again. Bigger wheels would solve this issue. I wouldn't buy this again.

Don't buy!

I bought this vacuum and it only lasted about 10 min and then it overheated and shut off! I thought I received a bad one so I returned it and received another one but it does the same thing it worked great the 1st time using it but after that u have to clean the filter after each use and keep the small cup emptied for it to suck anything up and then still only lasts a few minutes and then it gets extremely hot and shuts down, I'm extremely disappointed, I bought this just to use in my camp trailer and I can't even vacuum the small carpet area in there with it without it overheating!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great design

Picks up hair and does a great job cleaning. Light weight. Vesicle. But overheats very fast and I have to clean the house in shifts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not my favorite

I have had numerous Shark Vacuum's in my lifetime. This is by far my least favorite. I have to go over an area 2 or 3 times to pick up hair and dirt. I have 3 dogs and this vacuum doesn't pick up the fine dirt that they bring in very well at all. Just not a fan of this particular model

Super powerful. This is my third one of this type. I just don't like that you have to take the vacuum motor off to hang on the pole to make it stand. Kinda inconvenient when you're vacuuming and just want to have it stand up as you need. I lean it on something then have to make sure it doesn't fall because it top heavy. The other two stood up no problem. But all in all, it's a powerful vacuum. I vacuumed a living room rug 6times and it kept sucking up powdering dirt, you never see because it's so embedded on the bottom of the fibers. I really love all shark vacuums, I've used and used and worn out about 6. I love getting my new one to see the improved technologies. Light weight and easy to maneuver around

Quality does not match previous older model.

Purchased this after having one for 10 years, new one quality is not like first one. All plastic and release button is very hard to operate and take hand vac on and off to use. Happy with suction and sweeping ability and lightness of sweeper.
