I AM A VIETNAM VETERAN LIVING IN A 3 LEVEL TOWNHOUSE WITH A PET COCKATIEL SHE IS ALLOWED TO FLY AROUND IN THE HOUSE ALL DAY, CAUSING ALOT OF FEATHERS TO GET ON THE FLOOR BUT THE BISSELL FEATHERWEIGHT 3106-Q VACUUM DOES AN OUTSTANDING JOB GETTING ALL OF THE BIRD FEATHERS OFF THE CARPET. ALSO IT GETS ALOT OF SMALL PARTICLES FROM BETWEEN THE CUSHIONS OF MY RECLINER, I JUST WANT TO CLOSE BY SAYING THAT THIS UNIVERSAL FEATHERWEIGHT VACUUM IS AN AMAZING CLEANING TOOL.

It does what it said it does - I bought it based on the Shop Smart review. I had trouble when I opened it to empty the first time as the dirt was everywhere but after reading other reviews, I will make sure the cup is attached correctly and empty after every use...

Bissell Featherweight is useless

I bought this product based on it's glowing reviews. I only needed something to clean up cat litter around my cats boxes and it can barely handle the job and only when I go over a spot multiple times. There is barely any suction so it has trouble picking up a grain of sand. Very disappointing.

Thanks for your feedback. The Featherweight usually does receive glowing reviews so based on this perhaps something isn't connected properly. Make sure the dirt cup is snapped in properly. There shouldn't be any gaps. Also, make sure the filter is secured tightly to the machine for good airflow.

My stepmom had one of these to clean all the tile floor in her house with and it was so great. My husband and I just moved out on our own in a house with a tile floor and I quickly realized I too needed one of these tools lol. I don't mind the short cord as I clean area by area, so I just vacuum a spot, then mop, then move on. Its awesome for everyday use as we have 2 cats so we need to clean everyday! I don't mind the dirt cup as it holds quite a bit, and we just rinse the filter, let it COMPLETELY dry then we are good to go. Then it transforms into a little handheld for up high and on counters and couches, nice little crevice tool! Overall I love this thing and for the price, it's a life saver :)

L-O-V-E!!! Can't live without it!

I totally love the FeatherWeight Stick Vacuum! With 3 dogs, the hardwood floors in our house can get pretty hairy. I literally use the stick vacuum at least once a day - it's so fast and does an amazing job of picking up all the hair, dirt, etc. from the day. Works way better than other versions I've used and is much easier than sweeper-like duster mops. Some people complained about the short cord, but I have just been able to get into a rhythm with it. Plug in, vacuum in that area, unplug, vacuum in the next area. It's like a dance and it works for me! I purchased the extra filters and I rotate them out each day - part of my routine is to empty the canister over the trash can, shake out the filter, RINSE the filter, then put the clean one in so it's ready to grab next time. This helps keep the filter and the machine remain in tip-top performance shape. By the time I need to switch again, the rinsed filter is dry and good to go! It takes a little extra time, but if you just make it part of the routine, it's totally worth it so everything gets picked up next time you need to use it. It works like a dream on hardwood and tile. It does a decent job for a quick clean up on small doormat rugs - I usually shake the rug outside, then run the stick vac over it. Completely satisfied - works for what I purchased it for and very reasonable price, especially considering how much I use it! I highly recommend this product for quick, efficient clean up of pet hair from hard surfaces.

I thought this would make cleaning easier for me wrong it made it so much harder I have to stop vacuuming 4 to 5 times per room to clean the filter which is a mess and it even blows dust back out onto already vacuumed surface this is not my first choice now I wish I would have gone with my first choice but I guess you get what you pay for. for this they should automatically give you 10 filters

Thank you for your review. We're sorry for your difficulty. With dust blowing out from your machine, this is an indication of a clog in your machine. We recommend pulling the nozzle off to check for any hair that may be restricting airflow. Make sure the filter is clean and the dirt container is locked into place also.

Great for hard surfaces

I use this on all hard surfaces, I have 3 cats so I need to vacuum every day. Love that it is so light. I do not like emptying out the dirt you have to make sure you are right over the garbage to empty. I had a different brand where all the dirt stays inside the dirt cup , this you need to be right over garbage.

I love this stick vac, it is light weight but does a great job. It really has a lot of suction power for a stick vac. I had purchased this as a replacement for an older version I had that still works great but needed a new filter cup. I did not realize that my older model wasn't cleaning as good as it should until I received this new one. I accidently went too close to a curtain and it started to pull the curtain off the rod !! It has awesome suction, and is so easy to handle for someone that is not strong. It works really good on my hardwood floors as well as the lower pile carpets. I have used it for the higher pile carpets for quick touch ups & it does quite well. I am very pleased with this light weight vacuum as it has super suction power and does not scratch my hardwood flooring, there is a rubber-like bottom to prevent scratching. The crevice tool is an added bonus too !! I highly recommend this for anyone that has health problems and can't handle a heavy vacuum. Leave the big stuff to someone else !!
