This is the second one that I have bought in the past 4 months. Neither one works for the cooling. It works fine for heat, but it does not respond when I set it for air conditioning.

I thought I was buying a simple, non-digital thermostat, but nowhere does it mention that this thermostat is digital. The box also doesn't say anything about needing a battery or letting a super capacitor charge up before the thermostat will work. It also doesn't mention the operating voltages. My furnace operates at 12 volts, but this thermostat requires 24 volts. They managed to make something as simple as a two-wire switch as complicated as possible. Good job over-engineering the simplest thing. Oh, and it's not even the same color as what is displayed on the box. I thought I was buying the classic thermostat from 30 years ago, but this product is not what I expected
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi, we're sorry to hear this model didn't work out for your application, we appreciate the feedback and will utilize your comments as we update our products.
Doesn't work at all. The manual doesn't show battery replacement info. or insertion direction. and no info on basic contact closure output. Why did I receive it with a 3.3V battery that indicates 2.8V, unloaded, aka removed from product?
This “old school” thermostat is 10x better than all the digital programmable thermostats. My digital thermostat was causing a short cycle and costing me money. Got rid of all the fancy stuff and went to an old school Honeywell round Thermostat. No problems and electric bill has dropped!
I like the simple, classic design of this thermostat and the fact that it no longer contains mercury. As mentioned in other reviews this thermostat could really use a temperature swing setting. Once it hits the set point, it cycles the system off immediately. I have not had a chance to test this in the summertime, but for winter, it seems to cycle the furnace on and off about every 10 minutes.
Granted, thermostat mounting location can have a lot of impact on this, but ours is located in an area where the previous programmable model (with digital swing adjustment) worked fine.
