I was so excited when I got this skillet. After having it now for about 6 months I can honestly say everything sticks to it. I always use oil or butter before using it but it does not make a difference. This pan is also very heavy to use. I usually have to call for someone to help me lift it when serving food out of it. It also now has black burned marks on it due to everything sticking to it which will not come out no matter how well I clean it. I went back to using my cheap pan because it works better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Staub enameled cast iron is not treated with a nonstick coating and is very textured, so food will stick if you don't use a generous amount of cooking fat with a high smoke point and/or season the cooking surface between uses. Please check out the booklet included with your purchase for useful information about how to properly use and care for your cookware. We are also happy to help if you would like to contact us at the phone number or by email using the contact form at the bottom of the page. Happy cooking!
This fry pan has taller and straighter sides. It will do everything a fry pan can do plus braise as it holds more liquid. The black matte finish helps to create a perfect cooking surface searing anything perfectly. The cast iron doesn't have to be seasoned so easy care. It can be used on any cooking surface, including induction, up to 500F.
Staub cast iron is safe up to oven safe up to 900˚F which is great for when you want to start something off on the stove and finish in the oven and enjoy the full benefit of cast iron features. This skillet serve many uses for daily cooking, cast iron unsurpassed for slow-cooking meats and vegetables to tender perfection, excellent browning meat, and searing steaks. It is recommended to handwash cast iron because it is too heavy for the dishwasher to handle, although it is dishwasher safe. A gorgeous cookware so beautiful you'll want to serve your food in them, from the oven straight to your table setting. This is an excellent gifting idea for wedding, anniversary, housewarming or to upgrade to a higher level of cookware and a fancy family dining.
