The approximately 1 inch gap for the Camera button has already generated a crack on My screen’s protection Glass.. I have not even had the phone two weeks and have to replace the glass protection screen. I believe it’s a design flaw. I’ve always been happy with my defender cases from OtterBox.

Iphone 16 pro, fatal flaw. No protect to edge of glass front around the camera control button. Cracked the edge of the glass and thus cracked across the face with a week. After having previous otter boxes, never have i had this type of weakness and never have had an issue until this one. Now inhave to get a new glass face for my phone. As a fire fighter. There should not be any exposure to a glass edge. Also phone only clips into belt clip upside down, one way only vs prior models

I just upgraded to the 16 Pro from the 11 Pro Max and I also had a Defender case on my 11 Pro Max… but this new Defender case for the 16 Pro just feels cheaper and less protective. The protective bezels don’t feel as raised as they used to be and there isn’t even a protective button for the new camera button. The camera button is just exposed with ZERO protection. I understand that designs change over time… but this case just doesn’t have that classic Otterbox feel that I came to expect. Bummer.

Disappointed iPhone 16 Pro Defender poor design

I've been using Otterbox for every iPhone I've ever own. So disappointed in the design for the iPhone 16 Pro with the camera button cut out. I am prone to drop my phone alot so I spend the extra money on a case to give my phone the extra protection it will need. However, that exposed camera button area will make my phone vulerable to break in that area. Most of Otterbox competitors have that area protected. Will have no choice but to return and start using a case from a competitor.

My husband has been an otterbox defender series customer since the beginning of iPhones. Although they slowly faded on the rugged part over the years, they really completely dropped the ball on the iPhone 16 pro defender case as there is no “rugged” protection (or any protection, really) near the camera button, which leaves the screen/edge of the phone in this location completely exposed. He returned the case and purchased a pelican, which offers the same rugged protection that he used to love from otterbox defender.

Poor protection for camera button. The part of the case that is cut out is a major vulnerability for the phone. I hope otterbox corrects this soon. When they do I will likely buy this.
