bought and lid has never worked right bought new seal still no luck leaks so canner no good

Malfunctioned after a few uses

I received this product as a gift for Christmas a year an half ago. I haven't used it much because I usually am canning large batches and need to be able to do more than 5 quarts at a time. I used it recently to pressure can. Twice, it got to the canning stage and the screen went black and the canner started beeping. My only choice was to unplug it, let the pressure release and start over. After the second time of this happening, I gave up and went to my stove top canner. Very sad that such an expensive purchase malfunctioned after only a few uses.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
