Maui can’t hold his hook

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved this Maui toy. It’s very popular that he can be both shark and “human” but we didn’t love that “human” Maui cannot hold his hook. That would be the only thing we would change. Otherwise it was fun and entertaining for my 3 year old!

Cute little toy

He loves making him into the shark and plays as if he's singing with him just like they do in the movies. Moana is a big hit in our house at this time so it's definitely perfect if your wee one is into Moana too.

Finish Maui inside was super fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Maui action figure looks great! They really nailed the character, so we were impressed there. The shark fits a little strange, but finding Maui inside was a fun surprise for my son. The character moves well and the toy is quite sturdy. My rough and tumble boy is hard on toys, but this would stand up. He played with him outside in the backyard as he was making a water feature for his cars and such. By the end of the day, Maui was hanging out in a “pool” with the Undertaker (WWE) and has actually been there for at least a week now. The return to play with him happened only once or twice, but I can imagine it would be great for a kiddo that has more from the collection or more interest in action figures.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fun figurine to add to other Moana playsets

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this Maui toy to use with another Moana playset that came with other characters from the movie. On it's own, I don't think the toy would hold a child's interest for long, but it goes great with the other Moana figurines. My son loved putting on and removing the shark suit, although he needed some help with that--it's a little tough to do. There is a slight gap when the shark suit is on, but that's no big deal. We also used the figurine in water (the other Moana playset is a boat that floats) and it was fine! Just a little heavy so sank to the bottom!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome Shape shifter

Must-have for every Maui fan!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is ecstatic about this toy. Maui is one of his favorite Disney characters, so this toy is so cool to him. It’s a little hard to get Maui in and out of the shark head by himself. The bottom half slips on and off a little easier. He also wishes Maui’s arms were moveable/posable so that he could hold his hook! But Maui can only hold his hook when he’s in the shark. He also wishes Maui were a little bigger- he was smaller than we expected. Overall, though, he loves having a shape-shifting Maui and spends a lot of time playing creatively with him!

Bottom Half of Shark is Too Loose

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shapeshifting shark Maui can be changed up to 4 different variations. You can have just Maui, the full shark outfit, just the shark on the top of his body, or the bottom of the shark on the bottom half of his body. I gave 2-stars because the shark pieces don't fit well together. The top piece is very tight and the bottom piece is super loose. It just slips off so you have to hold it together for it to stay on Maui which my kids found frustrating really fast. Could be better if the bottom piece fit more snug.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your child loved Maui in Moana this is a must!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially I wasn’t impressed, I assumed it was going to be just another action figure laying around. But my son continued pointing out all of the detail, how the toy is the perfect representation of the character, of both of his personas in the movie. The shark is lightweight and can be played with individually or can go on top of Maui and the shark holds the Mānaiakalani which made for a nice clean up as it guaranteed all parts would be there next time he wanted to play with it . The Mānaiakalani has all of the detailed carvings that were represented in the movie & although it is not advertised as a bath toy my son had fun playing with it in the tub reinacting some of his favorite scenes from Moana. When all pieces are played with separately it also makes for the perfect travel toy! If your kid gets lost in their imagination and loves Moana this would be easily make for a nice gift!
