I put the solar panels in all sorts of different positions getting full sign, partial sign to prevent them from overheating and not charging. No matter what orientation or how I positioned the solar panels they only charge to 20 to 40% and last less than an hour or two
It could be a defect I don’t know, but I am very unhappy with the products.
I acknowledge that a more thorough reading of the item’s description would’ve saved me the disappointment, but I just expected more lights on the strand. It makes sense that a single solar cell can only power so many LED’s, though.
The different color modes are fantastic - my wife has had a blast trying all the different programs.
These are my first outdoor light I can actually use between landlord preferences and no available outlets near my area. I appreciate that you have a stake for the solar panel or can mount it with screws. Mine is currently staked into a straw bale. The panel itself is sturdy and well made. Everything came packed beautifully, as Govee has their packaging on pointe. It arrived quickly, too. For functionality, my only complaint is that the bulbs are 5 feet apart. That's a lot of distance. I have mine doubled up and they look great at 2.5 feet apart. 3 feet would look nice, too. I understand they're balancing solar battery output with competing brand lights in the 30-40 foot range, but I would have bought two. I'm a Govee fan though. I hope Govee can someday develop a solar version of these with more lights along its 35 feet. I feel their tech tends to be a step up from other brands. These lights come with a huge amount of pre-programmed themes and you can dim them amd set timers. It has accomodations for power outages in case your battery drains. I haven't played with the DIY or music sync capabilities yet. Overall, these are nice lights.
