Bad Heartburn

I love most of the Green Mountain Coffee's. BUT...This French Roast gave me VERY bad heartburn all 3 times I tried it. None of the other G.M. Coffee's have had this effect on me. Neither have any other French Roasts. I will not be trying this again. I will dispose the rest of these.
Pros: Robust Aroma, Good Flavor

Got it as part of a sampler pack with my machine. I moved to the USA from Australia just over 2 years ago and still trying to find a decent cafe in a land where chain coffee stores and carafe coffee are king. I don't know brands here very well and was assured green mountain was an established brand that made nice coffee. I tried a flavor blend of the same brand I got with the machine, which was fine as far as flavored coffees go. This one tasted bitter and stewed, like a carafe coffee that had sat heating on an element too long. I tipped out after one sip.
Pros: Free With Machine
Cons: Bitter

New Favorite!

I thought it would be my least favorite, so I left this pack until last in my sampler. I am now ordering 3 boxes of it. The smokey flavor has a very light pine note which I find appealing. Like drinking coffee in the Oregon outdoors.
Pros: Love The Smokey Flavor

French roast?

This coffee is too weak even on the smallest brew setting. Try the Barista Prima French Roast instead.
Cons: Not Enough Flavor

Not a fan, its a very dark roast. I work with 40 firemen, most of us call it tree bark. I personally guess i'm just a light and med roast guy, after i brew a cup of this i add a little water and have to add extra cream. To each their own. My last choice, but i'd still take over flavored stuff

Disappointing

I would not buy this product again. For me Tully's French Roast is better as is Green Mtn's Dark Sumatra.
