We really appreciate how kid-friendly

We really appreciate how kid-friendly this coffee table is. It has rounded corners. There is no place for toys to get stuck underneath. Even babies who crawl through are safe from small drop offs (our old table had a raised shelf underneath where babies could crawl up but fall trying to get down). Babies can pull up pretty safely without having to worry about bonking their heads. Our purchase was almost entirely made through the lens of baby proofing, and this checks a lot of boxes. The cherry on top for us is that it also looks great and stylish. It's long, which fits our room shape, and the walnut color goes perfectly with our wood floors and dining room table. And assembly is only 8 screws. Super easy. It might be user error, but the pieces aren't perfectly flush. There's just the tiniest couple spots that aren't perfectly aligned when screwed together. The instructions make a note to tighten the screws once the pieces are perfectly aligned, but I had a little difficulty getting it exactly right. But that's only for the OCD perfectionist to notice. It's hardly noticeable unless you're actually looking for it. I would caution about letting sharp objects scrape across the top because it does scratch pretty easily. Our little one scratched the surface with his fork with a relatively gentle touch. I wouldn't have expected the surface to scratch so easily. But again, I put the blame on us rather than the product itself. 5 stars.

Quality is decent for price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality is decent for price. Great design/shape for our room. Corners are rounded so great for little kids. Craftsmanship is a bit poor as wood is already starting to splinter and split after only a month. Top piece of table is not one solid piece so a visible crease is starting to grow rapidly.

I was initially quite pleased with this piece. I've had it for about a year and a half. The finish was the dark walnut. I've disassembled and reassembled this coffee table three times now. There is one piece that just won't lay flush to the top and bottom no matter how I move the pieces around, which is annoying but manageable. However, after a short period of time with normal use, the top is riddled with scratches and scrapes. The wood is very soft and the finish is not high quality. The shape and the idea for this piece is great, but not so much the execution.
