Know your paper for best results

These struggle a bit on very smooth paper such as Navigator, but go onto Strathmore Bristol quite well(even the smooth in this is less smooth than Navigator, but Navigator is also bamboo based iirc). They do respond well to blacklight, though I am going to hope these haven't been discontinued or won't be any time soon. The reason being, if you use these on paper that shows up under blacklight as a dim purple, like the Strathmore Bristol, then ALL of these colors are black light reactive, just that the blues and the purple are a bit dim but you CAN see them glow and they glow in their colors. If you use these on a paper that shows bright blue under blacklight, they just don't glow stronger than the paper. This is THE ONLY PURPLE I HAVE FOUND that glows AT ALL like purple under black light. That alone makes this set a thousand times worth it. In addition, the Unmellow Yellow is a great shade in normal and black light, please keep this as well. The bigger question I have I suppose is why they did not do a variant of Blizzard Blue for this set, as if you have that from the retired colors set, it glows very strongly(again, you need to not be using paper that glows blue). Additionally, I should mention for blacklight artists; if you happen to have older Crayola from late 90s or early 2000s, the plain Yellow glows faintly on purple showing paper, but the current formula doesn't seem to, and you can get some okay-ish glow from Prismacolor Crimson Red, Poppy Red, and Orange. I think some other current Crayola might glow at least somewhat but I still need to re-swatch onto Strathmore. Please make more glowing purple, Crayola, I beg!

I love the color these produces but the wood on the box I got was horrible every time I sharpen them they splinter down the pencil and that's just a waste of my time and my money I love Crayola brand and have been using their products since I was a child but these are the worst thing I've ever bought I was going to send a picture of the pencil I tried to sharpen but it wouldn't let me add an image but I got a picture for you send me a email and I'll gladly send it to you
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our Neon Colored Pencils. It’s clear you really enjoy the vibrant colors, so it’s especially disappointing to hear the wood casing wasn’t holding up for you. Sharpening should be simple, not splintering. We appreciate your long-time love for Crayola and the care you put into giving us feedback. Our team would be happy to take a closer look at what happened. Please reach out to our Colorful Care Team at 1‑800‑CRAYOLA so we can help get you back to coloring soon! -Taylor, Colorful Care Team
