Bought because of WSJ article. Acceptable, but has some shortcomings.

I bought this as my first headphone in thirty years. I normally don?t use them, but having to move into an apartment forced it. The great thing is the noise cancellation. It is excellent, and can be mode controled. The headphones are reasonably light, but the headband portion still digs into the top of my head. The race track shaped cushions at the ears are ok, but do eventually get a bit sweaty after a couple of hours of use. The sound is good. I wish I could change the bass and high frequency levels, not just the overall volume. The battery lasts a long time if you use it, but it also appears to discharge if you aren?t using it, perhaps at a slighty slower rate. So if you fully charge it, and then used it for an hour, you don?t have 39 hours left in a day. You have maybe 30 hours left or less. When I remove the headphones from my head, I can?t tell if they are still using electricity or not. Bottom line is that I have to recharge much more often than every 40 hours of use

1. I have used it for about a month. I also have a Bose QC35.
2. It sounds about the same for me. I have some hearing loss at high frequency but it is about the same in sound quality
3. The battery has lasted a long time. Longer than they say

Overall, considering the price, it is an excellent value. The Bose is easier to control but the rest of the functions and material qualities are good.

I like the overall fit and sound quality. The only thing that I would add is the Noise Cancelling shouldn't be used for large noises, it does it's best work with smaller ambient noises around you. I would recommend it.

Starts to pop and crackle

Worked great for about a week.
The origional pair I received I had to RMA as within a few days as the right headphone speaker started to crackle and pop loudly.
The replacement pair, after two weeks started to do the same.
Not happy, crackling and opping is very loud and physical hurts.
Seems to be a fault in the ANC circuit as turning it off stops the crackling and popping. But at that point you could just get a cheaper non-ANC set of headphones.

Headphones don't retain last use state of ANC

All around, great set of headphones for the price, however it does not stay on the last noise cancelling setting when you last used it. It gives you various levels of noise cancelling: full, ambient noise on, off. Each time you turn on the headphones, it always reverts to 'full' noise cancelling. I don't care for it, and always turn it off. I would have liked it if it retained the last selection you used before turning them off.

First pair of over the ear headphones and first experience with noise cancelling. I like these, comfortable and great case and folding away. Connects well to all my devices. I have not tried in airplane yet because of covid to see if the ANC is actually effective.
